Every rose has its thorn

I love images of flowers, especially beautiful in black and white. Without the distraction of color, the viewer can focus on the minimal details of the flower - the shape of the petals, the texture of the leaves. In black and white, flowers become abstract images, reduced to their essential forms.

This can create a sense of calm and order, or a feeling of drama and tension. Either way, black and white flower photographs are special because they let us see the flower in a new light - literally.
